How Sellit uses cookies and similar technologies, what each one does, and how you stay in control.

1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. We also use similar technologies such as browser localStorage that work in the same way. We use them to keep you signed in, remember your cart and language, and — only with your consent — to understand how the site is used.
2. How we ask for your consent
When you first visit any Sellit page — the marketplace or any shop — we ask before setting any non-essential cookie. You can accept all, reject all, or choose by category, and change your mind at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer.
This follows the Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection: non-essential cookies are set only with your prior, freely-given consent, which is as easy to withdraw as it is to give. Strictly necessary cookies run without consent because the site cannot function without them.
3. The categories we use
- Strictly necessary — sign-in and security (including TBC/BOG login), your cart, language, and the consent choice itself. Always on.
- Analytics — anonymous counts of shop and product views so sellers can see what’s popular. Off until you allow it.
- Marketing — measuring promotions and showing more relevant offers. Off until you allow it.

5. Third-party and payment-provider cookies
When you pay by card, you may be taken to your bank’s secure page (Bank of Georgia or TBC). Those providers set their own cookies on their own pages under their own policies — we don’t control them. Signing in with Google likewise involves Google’s own cookies during that step.
6. How long they last
Session items last until you close your browser. Your sign-in can last up to 30 days, your language up to a year, and your cookie choice about six months — after which we ask again. You can clear them sooner at any time (see below).
7. How to manage or withdraw consent
Open “Cookie settings” in the footer to change your choice at any time. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser — in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge, look under Settings → Privacy. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you signing in or checking out.
We honour your choice rather than tracking you by default, so a “do not track” browser signal isn’t needed for the analytics we gate — those stay off until you opt in.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as the site or the law changes. We’ll revise the “last updated” date above and, if the change is significant, ask for your consent again.
